The most common topic we will see here "Why am I banned?"

So you've been banned. Now what?
In this brief but informative guide, I shall:
  • Illustrate the most common reasons people are banned from the chat
  • Discuss how you can request a ban to be removed
  • Tell you the chances of it actually getting removed.

Now, before we go further, I must emphasize that if you are banned from a non-server(any rooms without official looking topics) room that you do not own, we cannot do anything about it. Sorry.

If you cannot sign onto the server and you are sure that the server is currently online, you have probably been k-lined. A k-line is a way by which administrators and chat operators can stop abusive users from signing on. This only happens if you have been causing problems on the chat server by violating a rule.

Examples of the most commonly violated rules are:
  • Flooding
  • Threatening/Harassing
  • Saying inappropriate things
  • Trying to sign on with a proxy or vhost
http://www.nerdleaf.com/terms.html is where you can find a full list of rules.

K-lines can range in duration from a few days, to a few months, or even a permanent ban. The duration can be determined based on the severity of the offense.

Once you have been k-lined, you may attempt to appeal the ban by posting in this topic, but you will most likely stay banned until the administrator/operator sees fit to remove it.

Here is the simple fact: We warned you, you did not listen or pay attention to the terms of use, and now you no longer can use the chat service.
